Awesomely Aquamarine: The Latest in Birthstone Jewels

1956

Recent favorites for March babies and beyond

Aquamarine is a gemstone that always manages to stun me, not just with its range of hue, but also with its versatility. It’s one of the few stones that automatically comes to mind when I think of alternative stones to use in bridal jewelry, and I’ve dreamed up quite a few possibilities to add to my collection of engagement rings (spoiler: I have no such collection). Those born in March are undoubtedly familiar with their birthstone, but like me, may be surprised to encounter the numerous shades of blue you can find it in (I’ve definitely been guilty of confusing a few for blue topaz now and again). But that’s the beautiful thing about aquamarine; it can be so pale it’s almost clear, or so rich, like the aforementioned topaz. It can be sea green or sky blue, faceted or cabochon. And any way that those brilliant designers in our industry choose to fashion it, it always looks good. Case in point: these 15 recent finds below. Just try to choose a favorite.
