In a strategic outreach to strengthen India’s global gem and jewellery trade links, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) engaged with key Cambodian industry stakeholders to promote its upcoming flagship events — IIJS Premiere 2025 in Mumbai and SAJEX 2025 in Jeddah.
On June 13, Mr. Gaurang Vora, Manager, National Events at GJEPC, met with Dr. Phy Sarak, Senior Advisor to the Cambodian Gem & Jewellery Traders Association, and Mr. Babulal Parihar, President of the Indian Business Chamber in Phnom Penh. The meeting was held with active support from the Indian Embassy in Cambodia, particularly Shri Richhpal Singh, Counsellor (Political & Commerce).
The gathering drew participation from 20 influential figures within Cambodia’s gem and jewellery sector. Mr. Vora showcased the scale and significance of IIJS Premiere and SAJEX, emphasizing the immense sourcing potential, B2B matchmaking, and international exposure offered by both trade shows. He also outlined the tailored benefits and hospitality programs available for overseas buyers and delegations.
The presentation was met with enthusiastic interest. Dr. Sarak praised India’s leadership in the global jewellery industry and conveyed his intention to lead a Cambodian delegation to both IIJS and SAJEX in 2025. The initiative was hailed as a milestone toward fostering bilateral business collaboration and opening new avenues for Cambodian traders to explore Indian craftsmanship and market strength.
This outreach reflects GJEPC’s continued efforts to build bridges with emerging markets and enhance India’s role as a global hub for gems and jewellery.
