The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Jaipur, under the aegis of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), recently hosted an orientation session for HR leaders from the gems and jewellery sector. The event aimed to introduce and build momentum around *Tarang*—the Council’s latest skill development initiative designed to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
Key dignitaries in attendance included Mr. Yogendra Garg, Regional Chairman, GJEPC; Mr. Sudhir Kothari, Chairman, IIGJ; Mr. Sanjay Kala, Vice Chairman, IIGJ; and Mr. Anand Rao, Board Member, IIGJ Lab. The programme underscored the pivotal role of HR heads in driving the success of *Tarang*, a mission being spearheaded by Mr. Abhay Chordia.
The orientation brought together around 25 senior HR professionals from leading organisations within the industry. Participants expressed strong commitment to supporting the initiative, viewing it as a strategic move towards bridging skill gaps, enhancing employability, and creating a future-ready talent pool tailored to sector-specific demands.
This collaborative session reflects IIGJ Jaipur’s continued efforts to align academia, industry, and human capital in shaping a robust and sustainable skilling ecosystem for India’s gems and jewellery domain.
