PGI India to Host 8th Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet in Kochi, Spotlighting Innovation and Growth

Platinum Guild International (PGI) India is gearing up to host the 8th edition of its highly anticipated Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet in Kochi, Kerala, on June 26–27, 2025. The annual gathering will bring together 14 premier platinum jewellery manufacturers and over 60 of India’s leading retailers, setting the stage for strategic collaboration and market-forward innovation.

With this year’s theme focused on success, growth, and innovation, the event aims to solidify platinum’s place as the contemporary metal of choice for India’s evolving jewellery consumer.

“As we enter our eighth year, we’re witnessing a significant shift in consumer preferences,” said Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director of PGI India & Middle East, and Head of Global Market Development at PGI. “Platinum is steadily gaining ground due to its purity, symbolism, and aspirational value. Our emphasis this year is on leveraging compelling design and powerful storytelling to unlock new growth avenues and expand platinum’s relevance across life occasions.”

Top retailers echoed this market optimism. Dr. Joy Alukkas referred to the meet as a “crucial platform for staying aligned with evolving consumer trends,” while Dr. Saurabh Gadgil of PNG Jewellers highlighted platinum’s increasing traction among young, self-purchasing customers. Suvankar Sen of Senco Gold noted that competitive pricing, combined with the intrinsic purity of platinum, is accelerating demand across urban and emerging markets.

Participating manufacturers are expected to showcase a dynamic portfolio of cutting-edge collections—ranging from modular and bi-metal creations to bold men’s jewellery and minimalistic, engineered silhouettes. Brands such as Prism, ORO, BN Jewellers, Emerald, Jewelex, and Kama Jewellery will unveil trend-led designs that cater to the new-age consumer’s appetite for customisation, aesthetic differentiation, and emotional resonance.

The Kochi meet is poised to play a pivotal role in defining the next chapter for platinum in India’s fine jewellery landscape.
