But it’s phenomenal for any time of year

If you subscribe to JCK Insider (if you don’t, what are you waiting for?!), you may have seen my recent roundup of scary-cool jewels for Halloween. I love the idea of having pieces like these as year-round staples—skulls and spiders are always in demand—but at Halloween, they get extra-special attention. If you’re in the market for the macabre, now or any time of year, Borgionishould be at the top of your list. The mother-daughter duo, who lend their bohemian taste and rocker aesthetic to their designs, create the ideal styles that, though they represent Halloween well, seem right at home any time of year (and with any outfit).

Necklace

“We originally began our business in the nontraditional sense by using skulls, spiders, and dragons among other motifs, covered in brown and black diamonds and black rhodium gold,” says Tiffany Bartolacci, one half of the Borgioni duo. “At the time, black rhodium and colored diamonds were not as widely used as they are today, and thus clients that were (and still are) drawn to these mysterious, edgy motifs responded to our designs. We are drawn to the use of dark and mysterious colors, and the uniqueness that this combination radiates is exactly what inspires us.”

Your customers’ individual styles will certainly determine whether these pieces make the rounds all year or just in time for the autumn holiday, but you won’t have trouble getting them noticed in your showcases. “Many of these clients do have an edgy vibe about them—whether they rock leather or pink hair or simply enjoy collecting jewelry different from their neighbors—they tend to catch your attention in a crowd,” continues Bartolacci. “This alone makes us very proud, as we pride ourselves on being different than the rest.”
