What once powered your iPhone could soon grace your finger.

Sisters Alice and Karen Chave are redefining what it means to wear gold with their jewelry brand, Incador—a bold venture that transforms discarded electronics into high-end, sustainable adornments. Launched in August 2024, the London-based company is fusing cutting-edge technology with conscious sourcing to produce fine jewelry made from precious metals recovered from electronic waste.

Through partnerships with specialized e-waste recyclers, the Chave sisters recover gold from old smartphones, laptops, and other digital debris. Their Tech for Treasure campaign, recently launched across London, invites the public to drop off unused electronic devices at designated collection points, turning modern trash into timeless treasure.

But their commitment to responsible sourcing doesn’t stop there. Incador also offers gold sourced from certified artisanal mining operations in Peru—small-scale miners operating under formalized, ethical standards. Customers are given a choice between the two gold origins—recycled e-waste or ethical Peruvian gold—with no difference in pricing, reinforcing the brand’s transparency and values.

Incador’s collections are crafted using laser metal fusion (LMF), a form of 3D metal printing that allows for intricate and custom designs. Their creations span across rings, earrings, necklaces, and pendants, available in traditional yellow, white, and rose gold, as well as a signature “champagne gold” alloy, exclusive to the brand.

Prices range from $1,500 to $4,900, targeting a clientele that values innovation, beauty, and environmental stewardship in equal measure.

With only 22.3% of global e-waste formally recycled as of 2022, Incador’s model offers a striking solution to a mounting global issue—marrying sustainability with style and showing that luxury doesn’t have to come at the planet’s expense.
