Hence, the students had an eventful week with a series of memorable and knowledgeable events organised by J K Diamonds Institute.

Gems and Jewellery Show

The fun-filled, insightful week commenced with the eminent GJS event. The apex domestic industry body- All India Gems and Jewellery Domestic Council presented the large-scale B2B Jewellery Expo called India Gems and Jewellery Show (GJS 2022) at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Students of JK and Learnathon from both- online and offline batches witnessed the enormous number of exhibitors from all across India. For jewellers who are interested in the Indian market, the event was an ideal place to be. The GJS event created a conducive atmosphere for the retailers to explore various exclusive and trendsetting jewellery, apart from encouraging a strong business relationship. Every bit of the GJC committee’s effort was reflected through the execution of the event. Students were inspired and amazed by the creative designs that were displayed, insightful lectures and knowledgeable minds came together, the vibrant audience, and comfortable, convenient locations. The event offered experiences that will be treasured for a lifetime!

HK Factory Visit

Students who are mastering the subjects of Diamond Grading and Gemology went for the Hari Krishna Factory Visit. The Diamond Jewellery manufacturing unit offered great bits of insights into the process of diamond jewellery manufacturing from manual designs, 3D modelling and printing, diamond setting, casting, polishing, buffing and QC. Students were exposed to quality information from knowledgeable experts. They came across professionals with profound experience who could guide them through the process of manufacturing jewellery. The organisation is well-structured and acts as an inspiration for businesses that strive to ensure quality and efficiency at work.

Gem cutting factory and Gem Market

The world of gemstones is mesmerising. Those who are fascinated by gems know the true pleasure of visiting a gem market. Thus, JK Diamonds Institute took an initiative to take  students of Gemology to a gem market where they come across different stones- precious and semi-precious. Students had the opportunity to practically learn the art of cutting gemstones. Theoretical knowledge is important but hands-on experiences cannot be shared through books and traditional learning.

Machinery and allied exhibition

The art of making jewellery has evolved exponentially over the years. From making jewellery manually, the industry progressed by including different types of machinery. The introduction of machines was to ensure precision and efficiency in production. Today, jewellery is also produced using 3D Printing technology. Students of JK were thrilled to be a part of the visit to Machinery and allied exhibition at Nesco Goregaon.

Alumni meet

The alumni reunited with the current batch of Gemology students over a scrumptious treat at a restaurant in Phoenix, Lower Parel. At the Spiced Klub, students had the opportunity to interact with the Alumni who are a successful part of the gems and jewellery industry. They shared various experiences and learnings of life with each other, strengthening the upcoming batch with valuable knowledge. Networking is the most important part of training and building a career.

Overall, JK Diamonds Institute had a week filled with practical opportunities that strengthen students to step out as skilled professionals in the industry.
