The event, scheduled to take place until Tuesday 13 May in the halls of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi in Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy), promotes and enhances the best of Italian manufacturing, from gold and silver to jewelry with precious stones and the most innovative machinery at specifically for the sector. In the afternoon, two situation events. The first in collaboration with Club degli Orafi Italy entitled “Between markets, sustainability, tariff barriers and supply-chain: analysis and outlook for the sector in 2025” saw economists from Intesa Sanpaolo’s Research Department illustrate the gold/jewelry sector’s economic progress, new tariff barriers and commodity prices. The second, “Opportunities for Made in Italy in European markets” was organized by Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and Yoodata.
Tomorrow will feature three important events for the Oroarezzo community. “The jewelry market in Vietnam: opportunities for Italian companies”, organized by ITA. In the afternoon, Federpreziosi Confcommercio will update its Retail Observatory with “Listening to the customer, reading the numbers: the evolution of jewelry purchasing”. This will be followed by the iconic Première competition’s eagerly awaited award ceremony.
Maurizio Ermeti, president of Italian Exhibition Group: «Oroarezzo is a pearl in IEG’s gold and jewelry sector collection. We will continue to invest heavily in Arezzo because we are convinced that Oroarezzo is an extraordinary moment of pride for Made in Italy despite an extremely difficult economic situation. International tensions are ongoing. Trade wars and geopolitical uncertainties are real challenges. But I am certain that the system effect we have created together with our partners in the area in recent years will give us the strength and tools to constantly reinforce our position in the world.»
Alessandro Ghinelli, Mayor of the Municipality of Arezzo: «For years Oroarezzo has been an international showcase of extraordinary importance for the gold district and for promoting this Made in Italy excellence that manages to maintain competitiveness on the markets despite the complex challenges of this historical period. It is an important moment of debate and market trend analysis, but
also an opportunity to enjoy the city, which, once again, is ready to welcome operators and buyers from all over the world in the best possible way, even from a cultural viewpoint.»
Alessandro Polcri, president of the Province of Arezzo: «A great event for the city of Arezzo and the entire Province. Indeed, this event is a strategic point of reference for every operator in the Italian gold districts, with particular reference to those in our territory. This is also evident from the high number of exhibitors that are in attendance again this year. A varied showcase for international buyers and potential purchasers, who choose our show for its quality and innovation. The Province of Arezzo confirms its commitment to support our jewelry companies, train specialized personnel in order to make the sector increasingly avant-garde, and encourage generational change, in close cohesion between school and work.»
Massimo Guasconi, president of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce: «In the heart of Europe’s main gold district, Oroarezzo, thanks to the commitment of IEG, confirms its role as one of the most important trade shows in the sector, able to attract a vast number of manufacturers and thousands of specialized operators. Our wish is that this edition will confirm and further strengthen the vitality and excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ jewelry’»
Ferrer Vannetti, president of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, pointed out: «Oroarezzo historically originated here at Arezzo Fiere and is a decisive moment within the annual trade show calendar, a prestigious event to which we are proud to provide an increasingly suitable venue, in full cooperation with IEG. The Jewelry Show has already benefited at previous editions from the infrastructural adaptations we have carried out, and this year exhibitors and buyers will once again find an environment that fully enhances the Oroarezzo event.»
Giordana Giordini, representing Confindustria Federorafi Italy: «In a historical moment of uncertainty, we must look to young people. Crises and transformation are the context in which we have been moving for ten years now. We have to know how to look ahead by focusing decisively on the new generations and on the ability to work as a team. We need to keep our competitiveness high by looking at new markets and telling young people about ourselves, offering them tools, vision and room for growth, because they are the real engine of change and the future of Made in Italy.»
Luca Parrini, president of the Arezzo Goldsmith Council: «For our increasingly export-oriented companies, it is vital that associations like ours work in synergy with ITA, with an important trade show player like IEG and with other trade associations, with the common aim of developing new markets. We have resumed, and must continue to do so, that intermediation role which will allow us to increasingly promote the needs of the companies we represent. Only in this way will we be able to stay competitive.»
Maurizio Forte, central manager for the Italian Trade Agency’s export sectors: «Our strategy to support Italian jewelry includes around 20 specific promotional activities annually. First and foremost, I would mention the consolidated partnership with IEG aimed at enhancing the Italian Oroarezzo and Vicenzaoro shows with a robust incoming program involving over 1,200 foreign operators every year. I would then add the Italian halls at the sector’s leading shows abroad – JCK, the Hong Kong shows, SIJE – which are needed to cover the mature markets and to start being present on emerging ones. Furthermore, agreements with the big players in organized distribution and e-commerce, the innovative campaign with influencers in the USA and UK, and market surveys are all fundamental, the latter activities carried out in partnership with Federorafi.»
Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region: «Today’s debate is an opportunity for growth and development for a city, like Arezzo, central at a regional level for high quality manufacturing. We must support trade shows, territorial marketing and the promotion of our products. Looking at the international situation, we must be aware of having to look for new markets in which to develop products. In this sense, a new alliance between institutions and operators is important. We must support a system powered by SMEs through training and the allocation of further economic resources.
