The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) reinforced its commitment to India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by actively participating in the Mega MSME Sammelan 2025, hosted by ASSOCHAM in Lucknow on June 26–27. Held in honour of International MSME Day, the event spotlighted the sector’s vital role in India’s economic engine and explored collaborative strategies to accelerate its development.
Representing GJEPC, Mr. Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman (North), addressed the audience, elaborating on the Council’s comprehensive efforts to empower MSMEs in the gem and jewellery sector. His remarks covered a wide range of initiatives — from facilitating access to key government schemes and supporting participation in domestic and international trade exhibitions, to the impactful Parichay Card program for workforce formalisation.
He also showcased critical infrastructure developments spearheaded by GJEPC, such as the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC), the upcoming Gem Bourse in Jaipur, and the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Delhi, all designed to boost manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness.
Reiterating the Council’s ambitious outlook, Mr. Sawhney said, “GJEPC is firmly aligned with India’s broader vision of becoming a developed economy by 2047. Our export target of USD 45 billion by 2030 is not just aspirational—it’s achievable through coordinated support for MSMEs and strategic infrastructure investments.”
The event drew an audience of nearly 500 participants, including government officials, entrepreneurs, sector leaders, and MSME stakeholders, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue and policy insights.
