73rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair Eyes $150 Million in Trade as Global Buyers Converge

Thailand is gearing up for a major showcase of its gemstone and jewellery prowess as the 73rd edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair prepares to open from February 22–26, 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). Organisers expect the event to generate more than $150 million in trade value, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global hub for coloured gemstones and fine jewellery manufacturing.

The fair is organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) in partnership with the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), alongside key industry stakeholders from both public and private sectors.

Four Decades of Industry Impact

Over its 40-year history, the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair has evolved into one of the world’s four most significant trade exhibitions in the sector. It is widely regarded as the largest international marketplace for coloured gemstones, connecting Thai manufacturers with buyers from across the globe.

According to DITP leadership, the event has played a central role in boosting Thailand’s gem and jewellery exports. In the first 11 months of 2025 alone, exports in the category (excluding unwrought gold), after adjusting for re-exports, reached approximately $12.1 billion — reflecting growth of more than 53% year-on-year.

Expanded Scale for 2026

To meet rising demand from exhibitors, organisers have expanded the exhibition footprint to include the Plenary Hall on Level 1 at QSNCC. The additional space allows for over 200 new booths, bringing total participation to more than 1,300 companies across 2,800 booths representing over 20 countries. Visitor turnout is projected to exceed 45,000 trade attendees.

The majority of exhibitors — more than 80% — are Thai manufacturers, many of whom provide comprehensive OEM and ODM services. Thailand’s reputation for fine craftsmanship, gemstone enhancement expertise, and production reliability continues to attract leading international jewellery brands to source and manufacture in the country.

Royal Patronage and Design Showcase

The 73rd edition will also feature a high-profile opening ceremony presided over by Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. A special exhibition will highlight jewellery designs created under Her Royal Highness’s vision and brought to life by Thailand’s master artisans.

The showcase underscores a broader cultural mission — continuing the royal initiatives of Queen Sirikit to preserve and elevate Thai craftsmanship and heritage on the global stage.

Reinforcing Thailand’s Global Hub Status

With strong export momentum, expanded participation, and growing international recognition, the upcoming edition of Bangkok Gems signals renewed confidence in Thailand’s jewellery sector. The fair is expected not only to generate substantial trade deals but also to further cement Bangkok’s standing as a strategic centre in the global gem and jewellery supply chain.
