DGFT, GJEPC & FIEO Hold Outreach on UK-India Trade Pact Opportunities

The Jaipur office of the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (Jt. DGFT), in partnership with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), hosted an outreach programme on 4 September under the Niryat Bandhu Scheme to guide exporters on leveraging the UK-India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (UK-CETA).

The session shed light on the UK market potential, with exporters being informed about the zero-duty access on 99% of tariff lines, a key feature of the trade pact that opens significant growth avenues across product categories.

The event was presided over by Ms. Vrunda Desai, Addl. DGFT, New Delhi Zone, with participation from Mr. Moin Afaque, Jt. DGFT, Jaipur; Mr. Swadesh Deepak, Branch Manager, ECGC, Jaipur; Mr. Nitin Khandelwal, Regional Director, GJEPC; and Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Regional Manager, FIEO.

Speakers emphasised the importance of preparedness among exporters to fully capitalise on the preferential trade terms. The dialogue also underscored the government’s proactive efforts to raise awareness, build capacity, and strengthen India’s competitive positioning in international markets.

The initiative forms part of a broader drive to equip Indian exporters with knowledge and tools that will help expand the country’s global trade footprint while unlocking new opportunities in the UK market
