De Beers Group has announced the departure of Feriel Zerouki, its Chief Trade and Industry Officer and a key member of the Executive Committee, marking the end of a transformative 20-year tenure. Zerouki will step down at the end of October 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by integrity, innovation, and global leadership in responsible diamond sourcing.
Joining De Beers in 2005, Zerouki became one of the company’s most influential voices in shaping the future of ethical trade within the diamond industry. She played a pivotal role in the creation of Tracr, De Beers’ pioneering blockchain-based traceability platform, and GemFair, an initiative empowering artisanal and small-scale miners through responsible sourcing practices. Together, these programs strengthened transparency and accountability throughout the diamond supply chain.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Zerouki has also been a driving force on the global stage as President of the World Diamond Council (WDC), where she continues to champion reforms within the Kimberley Process and promote credible mining-origin certification systems. Her tenure at the WDC will continue until May 2026.
