AI Training Programme in Kolkata Prepares Jewellery Manufacturers for the Digital Future

A three-day intensive training programme focused on artificial intelligence in jewellery manufacturing concluded successfully in Kolkata on 26 February. The initiative was organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in collaboration with Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC, and wrapped up with a certificate distribution ceremony for participants.

The programme brought together 22 professionals from the jewellery manufacturing sector, offering them practical exposure to emerging technologies shaping the industry. Participants received hands-on training in areas such as AI-assisted jewellery design, CAD automation, smart manufacturing techniques, demand forecasting, and personalised customer engagement strategies. The sessions aimed to help businesses adopt advanced tools that can improve operational efficiency, production flexibility, and market responsiveness.

Certificates were awarded by chief guest Rajesh Pandey, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of MSME and Textiles, Government of West Bengal. The ceremony was attended by Pankaj Parekh, along with Eastern Regional Committee members Prakash Pincha and Suvankar Sen.

The initiative highlights GJEPC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening technological capabilities across India’s jewellery sector. By equipping manufacturers with knowledge of AI and digital tools, the programme aims to support the development of a more innovative, competitive, and future-ready jewellery manufacturing ecosystem in the eastern region.
