The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has officially inaugurated its new School of Gemology and Jewelry Arts campus in Taiwan on March 29, 2026, marking a significant expansion of its global education footprint.

Strategically located in a central urban hub, the new facility stands out as the only GIA campus worldwide to offer its full curriculum in Chinese, making professional gemological education more accessible to students across the region. The campus will also provide flexible learning options, including weekend and evening classes, catering to both aspiring students and working professionals.

Commenting on the launch, Pritesh Patel, President and CEO of GIA, emphasized the institute’s long-standing commitment to education. He noted that equipping future generations with the right knowledge, technical skills, and industry exposure remains central to GIA’s mission. The Taiwan campus, he added, will play a key role in expanding the institute’s reach both locally and internationally.

Further highlighting the significance of the new facility, Cathryn Ramirez, Chief Learning Officer at GIA, pointed out that the campus will be the only location globally to deliver the prestigious Graduate Gemologist diploma program entirely in Chinese. She described the launch as an important milestone, alongside GIA’s broader expansion plans, which include a new school in London and enhancements to its New York campus.

With this development, GIA continues to reinforce its position as a global leader in gemological education, adapting to evolving industry needs while making high-quality training more accessible to diverse student communities worldwide.
