Hockley Mint vows to forge onward and stay open in spite of lockdown

Hockley Mint has claimed it will not be deterred by England’s impending four-week lock down, and will in fact remain open for the duration.

The Birmingham Jewellery Quarter-based manufacturer and casting specialist nevertheless highlighted the emphasis it is placing on the safety of its staff during this period.

Hockley Mint reported that the business will continue to operate in a socially distanced way, adapting its practices to support retailers.

This could mean through online sales, or by posting finished items direct to consumers or business owners at their home address.

It added that customers who wish to update their delivery address can do so by calling the company.

The business’ trade counter will also remain open, with stringent rules in place including the use of face masks and hand sanitizer.

Limited amounts of customers will be allowed into the showroom at any one time.

Managing director, Gary Wroe, commented “This is an unprecedented time for bricks-and-mortar retailers and our priority over the next four weeks will be assisting our retail partners in whatever way we can.

“Many of our customers will transition completely online and begin to complete the bespoke process in a digital setting.

“We can aid this process by sending finished items directly to the end consumer or to retailers at their home addresses.

“Ensuring a steady flow of business for the entire jewellery sector, despite the current challenges, will be a team effort and will require all of us to play our parts.

“Here at Hockley Mint, we are ready to do our bit.”
